Agree in some part, as obviously the club will (at least, I expect them to) do enough due dilligence on anyone they consider picking.

I disagree on the last part - we have players who take the game on & create the play; Griffen, Murphy, Cooney & Gilbee (in addition to Aker) have been known to take the risk to make the play. Harbrow will be doing it next year too, if his last quarter vs Geelong is anything to go by. The ability to make the play was a common opinion on Ward this time last year as well, and he certainly looks to be developing nicely.

My worry is that we end up with a Cam Faulkner type who can do the hard stuff and take the difficult opportunities, but does not get enough of the ball/run of play to hurt a team when things aren't going his way.

Yea my concern with Sibosado would definitely be his ball gathering ability. There is no doubting, just from looking at his YT vid that his possessions are quality, Lantern, and he can take a mighty grab, it's just a matter of how often.

Let's not get caught up in the Franklin comparisons and treat him on his own merit.

I'd also be concerned that at 191cm he's a bit small.

He has good reach and a good leap though which probably elevates him theoretically to the reach of a normal 194cm forward.

I think he's more Darryl White

It's always an interesting debate about the size of a key position player, 191cm seems to be just slightly too small, it's more a mid range size.

That is Dale Morris, yet can play on forwards with an extra few cm's on him, Pavlich & Fev are also 191cm, and any team would take them in a heart beat as key forwards.

My question would be whether this is something that is inherent or that can be trained out. I'm also interested in his conversion/efficiency rate ie. what he does with his possessions. Some players get a lot of the ball but do f-all with it.

I doubt he's unfit, so it could be a matter of hunger -- he could be dominating at lower levels without trying too much. Looks like he has all the tools and the right physique, if he applies himself (and it's a big if) he could be a very valuable pick-up.

I agree with your entire post and would add that we need a kpp player who is hungry for goals who demands the ball be kicked to them. There is alot to like about Sibosado, abillity wise he appears to have an abundance of. Whether he has the right attitude/desire to succeed, time will tell..........

There are a lot of profiles on potential draftees now on the AFL site in the Development/Draft section. Much more info and vision than has been offered before.

It's good for a peek. I recommend looking at Redden, Stanley and Roughead.

Interesting that Will Young is in the top 30. We may yet get a decent kpp at our picks!
