    Funding for Rookie's

It was brought up a few week's ago that the club is struggling with funding for any new (we can draft 2) rookie players. The way the new system works is that the AFL will provide funding for 4 rookie's & the clubs have to come up with the funding for any additional rookie listed player's.

I have gained some further information regarding the situation over the last couple of days.

The club has been able to secure one very keen Bulldogs supporter who will be able to provide the funding for one new rookie which is great.

I have had contact with another very keen Bulldogs supporter (who I met at the draft) who is looking to do some fundraising to try and collect the funds required for the other rookie.

I can remember a few poster's on this site mentioning that they would like to help out so if any of you are keen to donate please post your interest in this thread and lets see if we can help out a little.

If you have any question's or queries feel free to post them and I will try and get you an answer.

Yeah I'd be willing to donate some cash. It wouldn't be a hell of a lot, I'm an average wage earner but I'd chip in.

How much do we need? Divide that figure by the number of woof members,
and lets at least get a 'per head' figure. I'd be prepared to chip in for sure but I'd like to know what my contribution would mean in the scheme of things. Great idea though Mantis.

Count me in Mantis - and I think put this on the Bigfooty site as well. If we could get an hourglass of our target amount ($52,000?) and keep showing the donation amount weekly that will get some people motivated. What do we need to do - open a bank account or do something like Old school has done for Bulldogs Backyard?

I might be in for $100 in the new year, I've resigned from work and I'm getting all my leave paid out.

Ditto. Last day of work is next Thursday & boss has cashflow problems so don't know when I'll get paid next, but hopefully all is sorted by the new year.

Your boss has cash flow problems? Tell him to take a personnal loan out so you can get paid.

I can't believe the club can't come up with $52,000 after turning over $28 million last year. How about they take the money out of the football departments budget!

                              Cheers Mantis.

I'm probably looking at about $100. It is pay week next week though so I may stretch it a little but doubtful.
