Hey guys not trying to influence other people's votes or anything, but Picken was definitely not in our best 4 players, he may have done a decent job negating Harvey's influence, but he had little to no influence himself.

What defines best? Certainly negating the one player who has owned us in recent times qualifies for best in my votes. His role was crucial & went along way towards our win.

How can a bloke get 15 contested possessions and still get overlooked for votes?

I assume you are talking about Hargrave. I dunno maybe the 2 glaring poor kicks that went to the oppostion?
                    Who was he playing on?

Really really tough. My first impressions at the game gave way to some things I'd totally missed upon watching the game back. Still not sure but as it is I'd say

                      4. Lake
                      3. Griffen
                      2. Akermanis (was way more influential than I thought at the ground)
                      1. Hargrave (actually don't think he was as good as some do but he was more consistent than most)

                      2. Addison
                      1. Ward
                      Park that car
                      Drop that phone
                      Sleep on the floor
                      Dream about me

In my book that means he's +13.

Spot on TCD. Harvey is such a smart player and has always killed us so it was a huge role. A old school type of tagging role where he wasn't chasing kicks himself. Harvey had no impact on what was a close game, plus Picko laid the most crucial tackle of the day which ended up leading to a Josh Hill goal. It was a terrific effort. Reminded me of Dale Morris fist game playing on Andrew Mcleod.

Having said that - as with most wins - there was plenty of players who could have gotten votes - so plenty that miss out were stiff.

I know I am being hypocritical but Shags always struggles to get votes from our fans. He was superb last year from about round 8-9 and always struggled to get votes. I think our fans tend to ignore him. I remember one game last year where he smashed Milne. Kept him to a couple of touches (I think a very late goal) and got a stack of it himself yet was still overlooked for votes in the Ching. You just couldn't do the job any better did he did that day.

He has turned into an All-Australian nominee type specialist defender. His work against small/medium forwards has been great over our last 20 games or so. Regularly does his job defensively and burns them the other way.
