Re: Tim Callan?
I think most of us are in agreeance of this, but if he believes otherwise he may want to try to be off loaded to a lesser team (if any are interested)Comment

Re: Tim Callan?
Rocket absolutely loves his fanaticism and hardness at the contest so I would imagine that will be enough to get him another contract. He just needs to find a spot in the team that will best play to his strengths and add value to the team - defensive small forward might be that position."Look at me mate. Look at me. Re: Tim Callan?
I hope he gets a gig this week and goes ok - I'm a fan of what he offers us and thought he was good last year. Once his confidence was up he ran the ball a bit and his skills, whilst not a feature, are acceptable.Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment

He may do alright in that role but it's not what we need.Rocket absolutely loves his fanaticism and hardness at the contest so I would imagine that will be enough to get him another contract. We deperately require some magic down forward. Note when the likes of Medhurst, Milne, Betts or lately Jurrah get the ball there is a collective drawing of breath from the crowd in expectation of something special happening. It's the same when Cooney or Griffen get the ball on the run out of the centre.
We desperately require somebody with real footy smarts who demands a close checking backman not willing to zone off for fear of being made a fool.
I was hopeful either Hill or Stack could fill that post but Hill has fallen off the pace and the one game of Stack this year showed him to way short of the standardComment

Re: Tim Callan?
We need both IMO. Hawks are a great example. They have Rioli to do the magic but just as importantly they have Michael Osborne to do the grunt work. Let's not forget Osborne kicked 4 goals against us in the finlas last season.
Saints also have a combination of McQualter/Eddy/Dempster doing the grunt work and Milne doing the flash."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Agree we need both. Hahn does that better than most as can Welsh (when he remembers to note here he is playing) and Minson when he is there. We need both IMO. Hawks are a great example. As for a Rioli (who should have been mentioned first in my previous post) we have nothing like him.Last edited by LostDoggy; 29-07-2009, 12:17 PM.Comment

Re: Tim Callan?
He paid dearly for his bad game against the cats but I think they should keep him as he would be a great back up if injuries occur.Recently all our emergencies have been backman any experiments to try someone like Everitt up forward?Comment
