Re: 2009 Best & Fairests - All Clubs
Swallow isn't the most polished player going around, but he's still a quality player. About the only player worth anything in their midfield at the moment. (Ziebell aside)W00F!Comment

With Urquhart and Ziebell coming along too, they've got some quality coming through. And don't forget, Harvey and Wells both missed large chunks of the season.Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment

Re: 2009 Best & Fairests - All Clubs
He also averaged ~100 Champion Data points per game this season which not many other than the elite tend to do.Comment

Re: 2009 Best & Fairests - All Clubs
I think Clinton Jones does not belong in the top 50 but I would have him ahead of Swallow. Not sure how much Champion Data points recognise how you curb your opponent, which is Jones' stock in trade.Comment

No it doesn't, is really all about effective offence but Swallow did have a very good '09.Comment

Re: 2009 Best & Fairests - All Clubs
I'd say Warren Tredrea winning Port's is a worse result than Swallow winning North's.
At least Swallow isn't 45 years old.Comment

Re: 2009 Best & Fairests - All Clubs
David Rodan making the top 10 is a reasonable effort. He's a Richmond boy and would come home at the right price, and we need a hard 'outside' type player with okay disposal (who can play inside) -- any interest?Comment

Re: 2009 Best & Fairests - All Clubs
Played all 22, averaged a shade under 20 disposals and about 7 tackles, so you are right in a sense, not huge, dominating numbers.

Re: 2009 Best & Fairests - All Clubs
Interesting story from after the St.Kilda B&F the other night. Not sure if it has been reported in any papers yet. But it happened.
At the St.Kilda after B&F funstion (players and staff) some of the Geelong players happened to be at the same bar. St.Kilda had their own room though and were in their having a few beers. Most of the Cats guys kept their distance (Ling, Stevie J and others), but Maxy Rooke was blind and made his way into the Saints room and was carrying on a bit. Of all people - Milney walked over to him - grabbed him by the shirt and said: "Cmon mate - this is our function, our night - don't come in here rubbing our phucking noses in it - phuck off". Maxy left without too much commotion - but it was a very awkward moment.Comment
