I think our position on both players was justified at the time and has been proven right since then.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

I'd take Everitt back, but you're right. We haven't missed out significantly, or even at all, by virtue of them leaving.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

You had to laugh at St Kilda's banner last night

Congratulations Farren Ray 200 "solid" games. Solid was the closest they could bring themselves to complimenting him

Ouch... That's barely an upgrade of my '200 games means he's not a complete spud' summation...

We were commenting on the same thing at the game last night. Felt very underwhelming, like thanks for being determined. At the half time break a Saints media chap was interviewing his father on the ground for the pro Saints crowd. His first question to his father was for a highlight of Farren's career. The father, obviously very proud of his son, asked if he could recall a few special moments which the media guy politely responded and said to his father, no, one will be enough.

At least they spelt theirs correctly.

                  Re: Farren Ray?

Wow, it's unbelievable that the banner said 'solid' and the media guy said 'one is enough'. I know he isn't a gun, but seriously, some respect for a guy who has given his all for the club.

I wouldn't want him now but he has has deserved to get to 200 games.

Seems like Farren has been a popular player (amongst the players) at both clubs he has been at - and a good team man on the ground. But I must say, I felt very comfortable whenever he had the footy against us on Saturday night. Just seems to wait and wait until the moment is just right to put the next bloke under the pump.

Credit to him though - he played very well in a grand final, and had a few solid seasons (hence the 'solid games' on his banner!).
