    Re: Mulligan upgraded?

I thought Mulligan looked out of his depth last night. IE. Getting caught with the ball, and then trying to bounce it? I doubt you'd see that at U14 level.

He did a few OK things afterwards but with Bulldog bias aside, he looked shakey and rather ordinary.

From memory I don't think he has played a senior VFL game so no doubt he would have been fairly nervous which probably accounted for some 'rookie' errors.

Hopefully he learnt a lot from the experience and will go back to Williamstown knowing the areas he has to improve on such that when he gets another opportunity he will be well prepared.

If his smart hopefully he will learn by his experience playing with the big boys, no doubt he'll go over the replay and see what he needs to improve on.

There are positives and I hope he builds on them because he looks a likely type.

I think you'll find that was Everitt.

            Definitely Mulligan.

Better yet, let's try & convert Inglis over to AFL. We could plonk him up forward with Bazza, imagine defenders walking down pre game looking at those two giants

His athleticism is great but I just haven't seen enough footy smarts from him. The good part is that he is on a senior list and he's injury free. Hard to say at the moment if he can be more than a Cameron Wight.
ATM he's a poor man's Cam Wight. He looks good in a guernsey but he has a very long way to go.

I thought they would have play Boumann before Mulligan. Perhaps Eade was showing the kid how much he needs to work to get to this level.

At least Cam Wight never tried bouncing the ball when being tackled...

Mulligan looked completely over-awed last night but we need to cut him some slack. I remember my first senior game in the Ovens and Murray - I played half forward in a practice game. I made a fool of myself and I'm sure I embarrassed my parents and friends. Once I got over the stage fright I was fine - for some it takes a while and Mulligan is not even a senior player at Willi yet. The experience will do him good imo.

don't agree. He looked like he struggled with pace of game, but thought he put his head over it - he wasn't the only backline player that struggled under the conditions so I think we need to cut him some slack... He looked quick and agile and has something to work with. Give him a few games and some confidence and he might have something.

I've certainly cut him some slack because it wouldn't happen often for a guy to have been at the club for 2 year and who has never even played a senior game for the the VFL side gets selected in the senior side for the NAB cup games.

If I thought it was just stage fright I'd be very sympathetic but having seen him play a fair bit, I knew he was nowhere near ready.
