Hooper doesnt take a sideway step in any of the footage on his highlights reel. It's just run into pack, pick up ball, run forward then kick everytime.

He's a bit like Brent Harvey in that he demands and also gets his own ball, he's brave, not overly fast or a long booming kick but almost always puts it to his teams advantage.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

On BF he is reported not to be that quick though.

Not in leg speed but he always seems to be at the fall of the ball.

He's very quick – (2.90sec 20m and 7.98sec agility both in top 5 per cent at Draft Camp) and was a stand out at the vertical leap. His biggest issue will be adapting to an unfamiliar role, but that’s the value of a rookie selection. He’ll have time to develop.

Plus he’s a good ol’ Ballarat boy and would know both Jordan Roughead and Chris Maple (development coach) well, which should help his transition.

Dalrymple would be rapt to have him at the Kennel.

Nice comparison and I can definitely see that.

I could see him being played as a defensive forward. He has the traits for it. Very quick, strong and works hard over the ground. I like him as a BP but he probably doesn't quite have the touch of class, composure and skill to effectively play that role in today's game.

I think Hooper's a great selection though. He's exactly the type of rookie you want.

I don't know anything about Moles/Prato, but I am very happy with Hooper, Panos and Rose. I think we've had a solid day addressing and bolstering areas of our list.

Yep. He seems a head down, arse up, straight ahead type of footballer.

              Is Thomas Libba very tall?

OK. Maybe we should give Hooper the #39 then-a taller guy wearing it just wouldnt look right...

Good draft all round. When you put the draft and rookie draft together, our recruiters have done a great job. (I was skeptical after the main draft). Looks like we have good potential here to cover those that will retire over the next 2 seasons, and still remain a contender for a flag over that time.

Must say I'm disappointed for a couple of guys in Alex Stopp and Nick Lower (both Norwood lads, Nick from Power too) who missed out. I was hopeful that both would get picked up...

Quite a few re-treads and mature age players picked up, as to be expected.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Its not a bad picture for the future of the list, certainly an interesting mix of Rookies

1st Brodie Moles - Strong Medium- Half Forward/ Utility- Good engine, foot skills

2nd Andrew Hooper - Strong Small- Inside Mid Fielder - Contested ball winner

3rd Matthew Panos - Strong Tall- Leading Forward- Strong mark, accurate kick

4th Eddie Prato - Strong Tall- Tap Ruckman- Good potential

5th Patrick Rose - Strong Medium - Leading Forward/ Crumbing Forward- Good engine, accurate kick

                        .

Looks like we picked up a good mix of players.

We have recruited a few ekers as well. We are now pretty well served for most things.
