For those that didn't make it to the Hall of Fame dinner, the club has produced a DVD of the night.

          Re: Hall of fame

The Hall of fame this year was combined with the season launch and worked out really well, although the evening was very long.

Yes Bernie Quinlan was welcomed back to the club as an inductee.

          Hall of Fame
          Don Ross
          Peter Box
          Bernie Quinlan
          Steve Wallis
          David Smorgon

          Legends
          Chris Grant
          Norm Ware
          Allan Hopkins

Chris Grant was elevated to a legend, and what a legend. It's great to see a player you have watched from day one. Allan Hopkins and Norm Ware, both Brownlow medalists played back in the 1920s/30s and 1940s/50s

Was Peter Box there? He had a falling out with the club back in the '50s and as far as I know hasn't walked through the door since.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He was represented by his family and they said he was very ill? It sounded like he had alzheimers.

Don Ross was the only old timer there - must be in his 80s. He was very very funny. In his speech he said he had made up a list of the people he would like to thank. He said he showed the list to his wife and asked her if he had missed anyone. She looked at the list and said , how are you going to thank all them, they are all dead.

Was quite disappointed in the format.

Standing around for food and drink is not what we should have.

Also thought the Hall of Fame deserved its own slot.

The season launch was inferior without having the players placed at table with the fans.

Couldn't agree more. Apparently people complained last year because they didn't get a player at their table.

I complained to Jarrad Hanks last week and he said they wanted to try something different.

It was worth a try, I didn't mind it. Don Ross was a ripper.

So happy that Bernie Quinlan is in our Hall of Fame. He was the first player that I had his number of the back of my jumper.
Bernie is as good as any player I have seen.

I agree, you have to try new things and evolve. Maybe they make a bunch of changes next year and everything works. The HOF should be on a seperate night.

Bernie was a superstar with us and went to another level with Fitzroy. He was capable of playing better footy than any player I've seen. He was an outrageously talented talented footballer. When he wanted the footy it was impossible to keep it off him. He'd kick a goal from 70 metres out one minute then out mark three opposition forwards in a marking competition in their goalsquare the next. A great edition to our HOF.

Bernie played 177 games for Footscray, and 189 for Fitzroy.

I thought he was disappointing for us during that period and played his best footy at Fitzroy.
