Just heard on ABC the score at Quarter time was. Willy .4 to North Ballarat 0.7, they didn't know if Brad was playing.

From Herald Sun......................................................... .................................................... BULLDOGS captain BRAD Johnson should be available for selection after a successful return to competitive football.

In near-freezing conditions at Eureka Stadium in Ballarat, Johnson lined up for the Western Bulldogs' VFL side Williamstown this afternoon.

In his first game back after a long-term achilles injury, the Bulldogs skipper's match was considered a success after he managed 36 minutes of game time in the first half and 28 minutes in the second half against North Ballarat.

While he was expected to stay on the bench after half-time, he surprised fans by continuing to play going on a number of searching runs and hitting numerous contests in Williamstown's 78-point win.

He managed just one possession in the final quarter and was rested after 21 minutes.

Johnson made his return after completing a three-week intensive program, including a range of new treatments on his troublesome achilles.

Johnson, who turns 34 next month, has played only three games this year - including his 350th against Collingwood in Round 1 -and has not played in the reserves since 1994.

          Williamstown won the game 18.24 (132) to North Ballarat's 8.2 (50).
