Would one suggest that Cross could be in trouble in 2012?

The boys have said that they want to play seniors next year

A midfield of Cooney, Grif, Libba & Wallis???????
    BB.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

Not too surprised by that, when I have seen him his kicking has always been pretty neat. He's not elite in the classical sense, as he probably doesn't quite have the penetration of the better ball users running around in the AFL, but I think he's going to be more than useful by foot. And outstanding by hand, certainly elite in that area.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I think the real upshot to me of getting these two is that potentially it eases the pressure on Cooney and Griffen.

Our Centre line has real potential: Cooney, Griffen, Ward, Wallis & Liberatore.

The real trick is that could free up the "second Midfeild" just like Collingwood has, Cross & Boyd from the bench.

Ok, enough of this talk bring on 2011 already......

Don't forget Reid and Higgins who have shown that they can be regulars. If I disregard the team fabric thing, I would actually shop both Boyd and Cross around and trade off whichever one nets us the highest draft pick hopefully higher than 40. I think Reid could slip into that role next year with able backup from libba/Wally.

His kicking in the grand final was particularly good but like you I thought it was a strength of his.

Not wanting to put a dampener on things, but Wallis and Libba could both be spuds.

If you believe some of the hype on here, they'll be the greatest footballers ever to have played the game, and in their first year of AFL! A touch unrealistic.

I agree that it's an exciting prospect to have two sons of guns down at the club, both of whom are believed to be good enough to be top 10 draft picks - and we get them with picks 22 and 41. Brilliant. But Farren Ray and Jordan McMahon were both top 10 draft picks for the Bulldogs. That ended well.

Its a pure hypothetical but I dont think Libba will be resigned to the clearance work, definitely has the attributes to be a well rounded player with his key strength being his clean hands inside. Best case scenario and he ends up a Sam Mitchell type player.

If you have seen them play and regard the opinions of any of the draft experts I'd tip against that. Any team can miss with draft picks but these guys have had a lot of experience at the club and I think we will do OK with them.

Ray was scapegoated, he was an outside type before they became fasionable. He will play good football for St Kilda.
McMahon never had the application to use his talents - given both Libba & Wallis are being mentored by Cross & Boyd, they will be fully aware of theoff-field work that's required to make the grade.
I'm fairly confident Libba & Wallis will exceed Ray & McMahon.
