    Barry Connolly

Barry Connolly, father of Chris Connolly, played in Footscray's '58 season and was President of the Goulburn Valley Football League for ~20 years, coached Ardlethan, Nathalia and Shepparton United. His contribution to football across the state over a long period has been immense.

Anyway thought I'd post up for anyone who may know of or have some history with the Connolly family the situation with Barry, in particular the state of his health.

Last week Barry suffered severe hemorrhaging of the brain and remains in a coma. His prognosis is undoubtedly severe as I write.

May we pass on our thoughts and best wishes to Barry and his family through this difficult time for them.

Just a snippet I located from a couple of years back on Barry and Chris to add some context:

I can remember him playing. Never connected him with Chris

    Fingers crossed for a recovery
