Howard didn't play too well, but is there any point in dropping him again? The kid needs confidence and experience, we're giving him neither at the minute.

DJ is unlucky. He's been solid lately aside from a few errors.

Will be very interesting to see if Hill is at the club next year.

How many chances does one get?

OK fresh slate for Josh Hill, he's got 2 games to prove he is worth it. Personally I think we're better off letting him go to who ever.

Howard dropped at this stage of the season?

Dropping Howard for Hill smells bad to me.

DJ is improving every game as well, very stiff.

Hopefully they both had niggles which influenced the decisions. Maybe Hill is gonna play on Buddy!!

Hill can demonstrate his trade worth if the Hawks want to take him again

Hopefully he kicks 4 and we get decent pick for him

Markovic, Wood and Cordy are going to have fun playing on Buddy - as I imagine all 3 will have a go at one stage during the game

Was a little confused to see DJ as one of the outs, though I've since seen he's listed with 'general soreness' so I'm happy with that.

Probably the best team we can field under the circumstances.

Was thinking that when i saw he is selected.

Dahl the obvious inclusion with DJ very stiff (literally HUN reporting soreness), thought Hill applied himself defensively very well against Box Hill. Hopefully he can bring the same intensity this week against the Hawks.

DJ is out with general soreness not dropped on form.
I'm disappointed by this because he has been in the system for a while and with 2 games to go I'd like to think he could play with a fair bit of discomfort.

Hardly the best team we could field.

More like white flag selection. The best team would have looked to give us some hope around the ruck contest with Hudson or Minson. That was the only area we were beaten by Port. Needs more aggression at the contest this week.

Last week made everyone look good, but this is a different matter.

Hoping Barlow is kept away from Buddy. He couldn't get near Butcher.

Expecting 10 goal plus to Hawks and it could be really ugly, just hope they show some fight. Lots required from Boyd, Cross, Libba and Griff to get first use and get into our half of the ground.

Amazed they would omit Howard at this stage of proceedings...surely he's the future..as for hill, I hope he is BOG, and this game helps bump up his value in trade week.

It seems the selectors are damned either way. They have done what many have been after and settled for youth. I can imagine an equal number of people howling that it was just more of the same if we played Hudson or Minson.
The fact is with finals out of reach following our loss to the Bombers, and with Eade getting the flick, it really only serves us well by having a look at our list. We know what Minson can do, we know what Hudson can do. Hudson won't be there next year and Minson will likely be first ruck. So we need to get a better look at Roughy and Cordy.
I don't have a problem with the selections.
