Sad moment we all wished would never come, Charlie bled Red white and blue and we all have so much to thank him for. Absolute legend not just of our club but the afl in general. Much love to his family and friends. RIP Charlie Sutton.

Very sad news. He is a legend at the Bulldogs of course being our one and only Premiership Captain/Coach in 1954. Condolences to his family and friends.

Sad news. Never met him personally but seemed a really great guy judging from afar and listening to all reports on him.

          RIP Charlie.

Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Charlie Sutton, hero and champion. Gravity is no longer his master, and he will soar for marks and kick goals in the red white and blue in that great footy game in the sky where all legends go to play, where the Footscray Flying Bulldogs have been keeping the captain's spot open for him, and every day is a bright sunny September afternoon at the G' (except for a wet game every now and then), umpires never make mistakes and a hip and shoulder is met with a cheer from the crowd and a laugh from the bloke on the ground.

Vale, our Captain, and thank you for 1954. We know you'll be watching when we win the next one.

Such sad news for his family and the Footscray faithful who loved him and owed him so much.

He took care of the hard stuff in our greatest of moments, typifying the phrase Bulldog tenacity. Took the chance to make himself an immortal in the hearts and minds of all those who hold the red, white and blue close to their hearts. He is gone, but never forgotten.
