I think you are a bit harsh on Jones. I thought he was quite good today and I wouldn't be making a Panos for Jones change just yet.

Agree. Jones was electric today in terms of his pace. Is that much faster than other players. Dash to the boundary in the 3rd a prime example.

A long hard think about it on the way home from the game. Such an even contribution today. Thought there were no real standouts by a country mile and everyone got a touch or played a role.

He took a couple of good marks, but too often he wouldn't lead when there was space in front of him forcing us to bomb the ball in. He also ran under the flight of the ball too many times.

Cordy is playing well and I think we need to see what Panos can offer us at AFL level.

If Panos was to play how would you set the forward line up? Does Panos have the agility / pace to lead up across the half forward line?

I think so. I would have him playing the role Jones was today, a mix of deep and high forward.

Was interested to see that Ayce didn't have a hit out today. Didn't notice him in the centre bounce at all either.

Makes me wonder why it is necessary for him to wear a shin guard on his right leg, surely this has an affect on his kicking and lets face it anything that could help his kicking for goal would be good.

Well if he is not going to play in the ruck role then yes he should take it off. Minson is playing that role this year and I think overall has had a ok year. It's good to have some falls in our side as in previous years we weren't big on the tall department.

A good result with a few really positive aspects punctuated by a few growing concerns.

Between Jones, Roughead, Cordy and Grant, we are going to get one gun key forward. Looks like Cordy could be it, but Roughie is showing a bit as well which is great. Jones can play, he is a strong grab and keeps his feet to remain an influence at the contest. Not a big bag of tricks but he is doing well in my books.

Conversion is still an issue. Mac thinks it will take care of itself but I'm not so sure, it will cost us again and again. Eventually in a big game down the track. I want to see improvement.

Crowd was a worry. Size was poor even for a Port game on a Sunday arvo. On a plus side, my luchador mask arrived and El Scraggo made an appearance.

                      Really?

4.40 on a Sunday is a disgusting timeslot to go the footy.... Especially against a low drawing interstate team.

Agree, but 16k is very low regardless. I would've thought 18.5k was a pass mark for our fans in this instance. Anything less raises eyebrows, looks terrible and is a poor reflection on our support.

Agree Mantis. There is no reason why the could not have started this match at 2:10pm today. If it was at this time we may well have gotten around 25,000. This 4:40pm timeslot suites the broadcasting but not the supporters.

Jones did a lot of small things today, like tapping the ball to team mates etc. I thought he worked hard all game, and with the type of delivery into the forward line it was not easy for him. At one stage the ball was bombed in and four of our big guys flew for it (Jones, Roughie, Cordy and Minson)

I wouldn't be elevating Panos yet.

Probably thought we would have got 20.
Saying that the timeslot is diabolical from a family perspective.
Don't take my kids to these games, have to laugh at the vendor in the FP Latrobe st end.
Advertised as "Healthier" foods virtually a concession that the rest the caterers serve up is bloody awful.

I love Jones' ability to take a 'one-grabber' pack mark ... He is worth the effort. The future is bright.
