Agreed ... Elevate him off the rookie list.

Yep, think it's time to unleash Campbell.

BMcC has been keen to elevate Campbell after round 11 so now is his chance. It will also be good to see Roughead given more time as a ruckman.

Roughead has the added advantage of being played as a ruckman which now becomes significant with the loss of Minson.

Roughead dropped a chest mark and missed a couple of easy chances.

It comes down to a matter of opinion. Jones has been very ordinary this year and averages one goal a game which isn't good enough for a key forward. Cordy's improvement has been better than Jones. We need Roughead in the side as a back up ruckman and without Minson this week will become our number one ruckman.

I would like to see Panos get a game. With Roughead and Cordy sharing the ruck duties there is a place for him in the forward line. He can also play back if needed.

How does promoting Campbell for a single game achieve anything?

Surely we put faith in Roughead to do the job, half the reason we gave Huddo the flick was to give Roughead more of a shot because he's the future.

Apart from his goal kicking Roughead has been improving nicely this year, his attack on the ball is far better and he's showing a bit of skill at times.

I understand we are all keen to see Campbell based on one pre-season game but i really don't think it's necessary to waste money on promoting the guy for one game against Brisbane.

Anyway back to the thread title, i'd like to see Panos get a game or we bring in Smith and sub Sherman. Give Shaggy another week off if he's still sore.

I'm a fan of Campbell but I think this gives us an opportunity to bring in a running player. If Hargrave doesn't return, perhaps Smith gets a full game and we bring in Sherman or Veszpremi.

I would consider Moles as a sub, too.

McCartney has said numerous times, including in a post-game interview this week that he sees Roughead as a long term key defender. He also specifically mentioned Campbell as a back up ruckman on our list. I wouldn't be surprised to see him be promoted this week and even given an extended run, the coach clearly really rates him.

Why doesn't he play him there then?

The coach has been playing Minson and Roughead as rucks. One is out so will he bring in another ruckman as a replacement, or will Ayce move from a forward to a ruck role?

It wasnt the AFL it was the club who suspended him.

It's the knowledge that the AFL inconsistently and overreactively deals out punishment, and the current monopoly of the slime in the media that suspended him.

I would have Ayce take care of some ruck duties, especially as it's only for one week and against Brisbane, but I can understand the merit in bringing Campbell into the side. I wouldn't be unhappy to see him play, I just think run is more of a priority for us.
