Gobsmacked by his game today. I don't think we've seen that Griffen all season. I'm glad he's still got it in him.

In some aspects he certainly is. I get disappointed the way he often misses goals he should be able to convert.

Do agree with this. Although I think it is a Club wide trait, which never gets much attention. Was even fobbed off by the Club this year.

That aside, Griffen is an A grader, no doubt. He was great in a season where the team started to crumble, has been OK in a very poor team this year.

After the first 5 or so games this year i was adament Griffen was among the competitions best. Since then he has been pretty disappointing.

Then he goes out and does that! Wow!

                    Re: Griff

I would love to see Griff do that most weeks in a season and am afraid it may never happen. The only shot he's got at becoming a consistent gun is if Libba, Wallis, Dahl, Smith (or other yet to be drafted mids) can develop their games to such a degree that Griff can get off the chain once in a while. In the current phase the team is in, he is destined to struggle for consistency when the opposition exclusively try to shut him (and only him) out. I want this to happen in the next 2 seasons as that will be Griffs absolute prime....

You might change your tune in a couple of seasons when Boyd steps down.

Amazing what a week's rest can do for a player. While he still had some issues in penetrating with his kicks, his energy through his core demonstrated by his ability to stand up in tackles and drag players with him was something I've never seen from him.

Wallis can be captain. If GWS can appoint younger ones, why can't we?
