    Brent Prismall joins Dogs

Seems as though B-Mac eventually got his man... http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-new...221-2bqsp.html

If he's as good as the reports say re being a top bloke, another good get for the club. Wouldn't mind knowing how many new coaches and support staff we've appointed this off season. Surely a record for the club.

off the top I can think of the following:
    1. Ben Graham
    2. Scarlett
    3. Mooney
    4. Johnno
    5. Prismall
    6. Hansen

We definitely were looking to get him and now we have. Do you rate him PS? He might show his potential now his joined us.

Potential as a player or coach? If it’s the former well we’ll have to see how he goes at Willi as he wont be eligible for the senior side. And in terms of player development the proof will be in how the young guys kick on.

It’s worth noting though that the current squad is probably an easier proposition to manage and mentor given there isn’t anyone from remote outback Australia. No Xephi Skinner’s for example.

Anyway I hope he’s a great success and instrumental in our premiership success in 2013. Boom

Hopefully he can help Brett Goodes in his transition to AFL football. And Goodes can help him transition into his role.

I'd say both. Are we getting him as a player or a coach. Is this his first time at coaching if we are getting him as a coach.

            He's playing with Williamstown.

Yep. He's role is player welfare - so not a coach or a first team player. However if he has a stella year injury free at Willi, then who knows... He could do a Goodes and become a mature-aged rookie.

I expect this to be a dual role for the club. Player welfare manager and VFL player/coach, we'll be needing players like Prismall when we start fielding a stand alone team in 2014.

Could be Footscrays first captain in 2014. Also sounds like he will be the counter balance to influences like Sherman. That can only be a good thing.

I also wonder whether he is really happy for this opportunity or whether he regrets not taking the one year offer from the dons or port. Surely there would be some regret.

It wouldn't surprise me BT, if he can get his body right he could be similar to Ben Jolley which would be a fantastic result. We could do with another couple of his type over the next year and a bit.

I get the impression that a lot of decisions are made with the longer term view and especially around setting up our VFL side in 2014.

Yep. Obviously Prismall but Hansen is a fair chance too. Hansen kicked 67 goals in 14 games in the WAFL this year. He will be only 30 going into 2014. Perhaps Gia could be an option too.

With quickly changing game, I like the idea of having a specialist coach or two/welfare guy spends time with our kids where it matters most, on the field.

Collingwood hardly need to be economical in this aspect but still do with Hahn this year and Hudson next year.

He's not an AFL player because he just doesn't have the dedication required. He's talented enough.

I'm not so sure about that. He could have potted the club on his departure but instead he did and said the right things.
It was a far cry in comparison to Akermanis.
