          GOAL DOGS
Dixon is called to play on in the pocket and shorts the pass over the
top to a running Cross who marks, plays on and knocks through the goal. Bulldogs reduce the margin to 29 points.

I accept where we currently are at, but will still hold the 22 that run out there accountable.

I don't get why some think Minson has been poor today. He has been great at the hit outs today giving us first use most times.
Absolutely, 4-6 from set shots, I would have put money on Higgins slotting that one, no excuse, but freo have upped the pressure 5 notches over the lions.
Will has also won the contest around the ground but maybe not the aerial battles.

Is that another hit out for Minson?

He looks like his confidence is shot today.

I know I shouldn't swear but...... Another set shot missed! A five goal loss is about right.

Final score. 106-78. Murph goaled on the siren.
Notwithstanding our shooting for goal, and some lapses in concentration and execution. It's actually been a big improvement. We would've got steamrolled last year in the second half. But every time Freo looked to pull away, we worked harder to at least keep our heads above water.
I'm never happy when we lose, but I can accept that in relation to Freo we are a long way behind in our stage of development and all things being considered it's a good result for us right now.
If only we could develop a few more players who could kick straight.

Big Will, 48 hit outs, 7 clearances (second most from the Dogs behind Libba's 12).
He's definitely off to a great start for the year.

That's about where we are at early doors ( maybe worse later on).. Still about 6 players off having a good side, hopefully we can develop from within.

5 goals off atop side at home. We are better than last year. Did Dickson score? Cross second best forward says a bit.

After tipping 2 last week I'm 3 from 3, go the lions!

Our blokes missed a few very gettable goals from straight in front last week and this week. Wonder if it's tiredness, technique or composure? I'd really like to know because it's so frustrating on a perfect day, no wind, inside a dome like Etihad.

Not sure about the Dockers. maybe they were coasting a fair bit at the end.

Just goes to show how misleading stats can be. We won or drew just about every one.

With or two big forwards and number of smalls having average games, Im OK with the result.
Main thing is we fought it out.
Gia, Higgins, Dickson, Cordy, Jones - not great
