We must of been watching a different game if you think he gave us consistent first use of the ball.
Agree. He struggled to even give us a contest around the ground at times, especially in the first half when Griffiths was all over him. 1 Mark for the entire game is extremely poor and his double fister out of bounds late in the game when he was the only player in position to mark shows a player who knows he's struggled.
The hitout has to be the most overrated stat in football alongside the number of coin tosses won.

4. Liberatore: Just kept going, and very impressive around the stoppages. Smart user of the footy.
3. Cooney: Finally has his dash back, and I thought he was very impressive off half back. Crowd was very quiet however, no "coo's"
2. Minson: Very good in the ruck, and while Griffin was good around the ground, I'm not sure Minson did as much wrong as people seem to think.
1. Cross: Apart from that baffling bit where he didn't go the mark I thought he was good. Kept running all day, used the ball constructively and 2 goals is a good effort for the least naturally attacking midfielder in the competition.
2. Liberatore
1. Young: Was next in line for a vote, was solid in defence and i like his decision making, Seems to think through all his kicks.

He had 1 clanger according to AFL stats. He had 7 clearances.
We must have been watching different games if you have him down as 7 clangers.
Fair enough, you think he wasn't good today but no need to give the big fella 6 extra clangers!!

Griffen was quite effective around the ground in the first half but the longer the game went, the more Minson monstered him in the ruck. Anyone who doesn't think Minson gave us first use of the ball is dellusional. If you listened to the after game interview with Barlow you would have heard him acknowledge Minson's dominance.

Yes as a raw stat. But he put it in the right areas a lot of the time. Ben Hudson used to struggle around the ground against mobile ruckmen too. But Will did want we want of a 1st ruckman, win the ruck tap and give our on ballers the best chance to win first possession. He also won his fair share of the ball at stoppages and gained 7 cleaances himself. He did his job well, even from the get go when Freo were putting scores on the board.
Repeatedly the commentators were saying how we are winning first use of the ball clearly, it's just that we are not doing anything constructive with it from there.

4. Cooney - got some dash back
3. Libba - outstanding
2. Cross - didn't stop running
1. Minson - dominated the ruck although I thought Griffin was better around the ground.
2. Libba
1. Dalhaus - We look better when he plays well.

Standing ovation for Adam Cooney. A great personal victory. Many outside the club and even a few inside had written him off.
Same for me
4. Cooney
3. Libba
2. Cross
1. Will
2. Libba
1. Luke

No, I don't think so, he looked knackered. Mainly for his composure and decision making in traffic and under pressure, something many lacked today.
As a sidebar, just looked at the stat sheet and Stevens had 13 possessions after being subbed on. In a quarter and a half. Human wrecking ball, will be a gem.
