I agree with this. Give Cordy a few games playing as the 2nd ruck/FP with Stringer in the side, and see how he goes.

Roughy can be a younger and less experienced version of H Taylor for us, going down forward when there isn't a match up. But primarily, he needs to be our FB.

Bring in Talia. I mean, come on. We will need him, and the experience will be good for him. Imagine the headaches of a Taylor, Pod, Hawkins. Franklin, Roughead and whoever else. Going to need another tall defender.

It was probably a goal, however my point is out of the three shady ones (out on the full decision, Selwood tip, and Geelong poster) the goal deemed hitting the post will be the only one talked about.
Isn't the real issue, what the hell was Picken doing trying to kick it off the ground.

Real issue, as Bmac pointed out, how did it get in the square in the first place.

We have found a great talent in Roughead at full back.. Crazy to suggest we move him and weaken the backline
Absolutely spot on Hughy, and great to see you getting good support here from other posters.

We should always go in with a second ruckman, and he should not be expected to fill a key position.
For mine given our current list Cordy is pretty clearly our best option as No2 ruck, but should play as FP, not as a FF. We need some one to play the role of a lead out marking [ and goal kicking] full forward. Hopefully we can add someone in either the trade period or the draft.
I am not sure I can see an option on our list right now, though just to chuck in one from left field, what might happen if we threw Micka Talia in there for a quick try?

Stringer might be our best option for a while, but once he gets fitter and builds his tank,I think he will be more effective with more of a license to roam further and wider.

A trainer told me at training a few weeks ago that Roughy played most of his junior footy at fullback. He was turned into a ruckman after one of his junior coaches decided that he was too tall not to be playing in the ruck.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

You will have to wait a bit longer, Talia is out for 4-6 with a fractured jaw.

Heard him in the social club talking about it. Didn't realise till breakfast the next day that something was wrong

How was Smith? Would you prefer him to Addison in the side?

When Roughead went forward, were Jones and Stringer still up there?

Obviously Jones clunked marks, but did he look more a instinctual forward?
He looked like a young Carey at times, hunted the high ball, got into good positions and hungered for the contest, very impressive. The Medallion Club was calling him 'Showtime' whenever it went near him, is that his nickname? I don't think the way he played on Saturday night is sustainable, he'll need to learn how to lead properly if he wants to kick goals and be a real target, jumping over full backs only works on mediocre full backs and Lonergan is just that.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I think he needs to try and do both. I couldn't think of anything worse than pulling his thirst for taking a high mark out of his game, as long as doing that doesn't stop him from playing to percentages.

With fitness gained over a couple more preseasons he'll become a more rounded footballer, and with learning coupled with that he'll have the mental capacity to maintain a balanced game.

What I saw from him on Saturday night, I was very pleased with his work rate and the way he attacked the high ball.
                            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

He took a few grabs on the lead.

His game had a bit of everything. High marks, marks on leads, ok kicking, defensive pressure.

Yep there was the daisy cutter he took almost perpendicular to the ground when he lost Lonergan on the lead in the second quarter.
