I'm pretty sure the means it was a joke.

Oh lighten up. This board is so depressing after a loss surely we can enjoy all wins no matter how insignificant they might be to some.

We may be the most worthy club to be happy with some luck BAD. I agree, it's nothing to shout from the rooftops, but let's just sit on it and bring out the misery this week after the Dons tear us to pieces.

Results genuinely aren't important in this transition phase - what I love to see is the team showing incremental improvement in key areas of deficiency - transition of ball movement, run and carry, one-on-one defensive pressure, pressure inside forward 50, etc.. For me personally, whether we win or lose has been largely immaterial in the last 18 months - I found far more to be excited by in our 3 losses against Geelong under BMac than our 2 wins against GWS.

Against just speaking for myself, I haven't seen enough incremental improvement in our game plan or system over the last 18 months. And performances like we dished up on Saturday, irrespective of the result, don't instil me with confidence that we are on the right path.

            Bankers:

Michael Talia - Should win the rising star award this week on the back of that performance. Outstanding effort to accumulate so much of the footy, and to look composed with it

Jason Tutt - Still had some moments of the "lost Jason" but contributed on the scoreboard when we needed him to. Plenty of work to do still, and must back it up next week

Danial Giansiracusa - Shame some people are only realising just how good you are for this club in the twighlight of your career

            Anchors:

Our structure - Around the contests and across the ground, we just don't seem to position ourselves appropriately. It makes us look like we have to work bloody hard to get the football and keep it, while the oppositions seem to move it easily when they get it

GWS players - Big shot draftees who are completely full of themselves. Need to have their head knocked off, and be brought down a peg. The game will be better off without Sheedy, no end

Umpiring - I won't bang on about it
            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I do agree with you, but at least a win gives players confidence that the hard work and planning is coming to fruition. Unfortunately winning 9 games in two seasons must be deflating to every one.

Good to see a shout out to Tutty. I think he is worth persisting with - and 18 possessions/2 goals is a good return. Hopefully he can put a few reasonable performances in, in a row. Previously he has had an ok game, and then the next week has gone completely missing.

Macca acknowledged after the game that Tutt still had 'a long long way to go' but that he 'had some attributes that our team needed'.

Had a good first quarter, touched the ball twice in the next two and a good last when we really needed him. If he can play four quarters he will be an asset with his pace and goal kicking ability.

Ain't that the truth. A whole bunch of smart arses who have achieved nothing. There is a real issue with the culture in that place and they need to be acquainted with the reality of life.

Having been drafted as high picks they believe the job is done. One day they will learn this is far from the case.

The Club should give Laurie Sandilands a retrospective B&F for knocking Sheedy out all those years ago.

What about when Bob and Devon Smith we close to the boundary line - they were running out of room and Bob conceded they were going over - but Devon Smith slung him - almost into the fence. The look on Bob's face was of disbelief.

Yet, again we just let them.

Is it we can't be bothered or what is it?

                          No free kick either.

No free kick for JJ after getting pole axed.

No free kick to Dixon after getting elbowed in the throat.

There were more but those were the stand outs.

                          Umpires were pitiful!!!

It's just piss weak. I'd like to see them try it against a team like Hawthorn, Geelong or Sydney - then get put in their place. It should be a message to our boys that GWS and maybe others think we're weak as water. A old style coach like John Northey would fire the boys up all week with this message.

But what do you want our blokes to do? They remonstrated at half time - but for all the other incidents are players supposed to barrell in and give away a free kick?

The umpires should be adjudicating the game properly. There are 3 of them out there to stay on top of that garbage.

Our players kept playing the ball - and won the contested ball count by a considerable margin. All you can really ask is that they keep putting their heads over it.
The push and shove stuff is nonsense. No dramas when Cooney got punched, and when JJ got cleaned up Morris got into Cameron - but trying to rough up players all day is primarily a waste of time.

I'm not advocating one thing or another. I agree the umpires have a crucial role to play. My comment was simply that GWS felt that they could target us, i can only guess that they obviously don't rate us as a physical threat. Sure we have not got 15 tough 100 game players like Geelong, so I guess they picked their mark. But that will come in time I have no doubt. While it may just be a sign of where we are, it just annoys me that another team thinks so little of us. But as I say, I've got no doubt the wheel will turn and our bodies in a few years time will be solid rock.
