    Thanks everyone for your links and info, some great information there! Unfortunately still unable to verify if Jack actually took the field in the Championship of Victoria match. I've even gone to the length of reading all available match reports on Trove and ticking off each player from the named team. All players are mentioned in the match reports except for Jack Meuleman, Bill McIntyre and Frank Nielsen. Hopefully some info comes to light, its been very pain staking! Thanks again all.

      Spent the afternoon having a dig around. Read match reports, the cheating controversy, looked plenty of places. Just no mention of Sherman.

          I dunno if this is any good but I found it on my travels around the net;

          Depending on whether the year mentioned at the top is 1910 or 1918 it could be a photo of Jacks's junior team.

          They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

              The two blokes front and centre-the one holding the footy and the one next to him could almost be wearing Footscray jumpers too.

                What wonderful and intriguing photos. Where did you find these Two Dogs and what are they meant to be?

                  Thanks everyone. I do have a copy of this pic, its from the Museum Victoria website. The year is 1918 when the family arrived in Chillingollah. I believe in 1924, Jack made his way down to Melbourne. A great photo!
