Liam struggles to work this out, maybe it's his eyesight or he can't work out how to position himself in relation to his surroundings but I don't think that is an easy fix. Rather than telling him to leap straight up I would of said lift one leg up and use your knee/shin to protect you from pack and also to act as a spring/cushion, but if he couldn't work this out himself then he's not going to all of a sudden be cured.

I'm tipping he will have a reasonable year as his confidence will be high at a new club, then he will fall away again.

Chris Grant and Doug Hawkins say hello and do a twirl before they do it. Whereas Ted Whitten would wack you around the ears before taking the grab and flick passing it on.

Just watching Bailey Dale on the video in full flight gee he reminds me of a young Daisy Thomas. Fingers crossed reports are positive with this group so far.

My little birdies are giving me firm thumbs up on Dale. He's pleasantly surprised thus far.

I'm pretty confident he's going to be a good player for us, it was great to see he did well in the match simulation stuff up north as the reports thus far have been a little quite about him.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

He looks the rawest of them all, but when I saw him at training before Christmas he moved well before he suffered from fatigue, and the clip of him slotting a goal on the run on the website is exciting.

I've heard a few reports from training that Hamling has been doing pretty well. Still on the skinny side but he's pretty good at defending one on one.

I wouldn't say Hamling is skinny. He's pretty solid.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Word I got is that our coaches have identified a couple of correctable flaws in Hamling's game - which was both surprising and pleasing. General thoughts are there is upside there.

Coaches always think that. Geez I hope they're right this time though.

It wasn't that he should jump straight up for marking contests was it?

Lake is fantastic judging it as a backman - looks a bit lost as a forward.
Leading to the ball can be difficult and it's hard to teach. Naturals like Grant make it look far easier than it is

Yes agreed. I was talking about when the ball is high in the air, I have never seen anyone as good as him judging it. But yeah, in the backline.

The best marking forward for me is Kelvin Templeton. Grant was a freak as well all over the ground.
