It's Grand Final or flop for the Western Bulldogs: Brian Lake

    Rebecca Williams - From: Herald Sun - February 01, 2010 12:00AM

WESTERN Bulldogs defender Brian Lake says anything less than a Grand Final appearance will be a failure for the club this year.

The All-Australian backman yesterday laid out his expectations for the 2010 season, saying the team must improve on its third place last year.

The Bulldogs suffered a seven-point loss in their 2009 preliminary final against St Kilda - the team's second successive loss at the last hurdle.

    Nice technique from big Bryza.

I agree with the sentiment of the article, too.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

To play what shot? I guess if he has whacked an unbeaten 49 with 4 'dorothies' there wouldn't have many 'classical' shots included.

The sentiment is ok, but the headline is a bit over the top... I guess we are lucky the article was in today's paper rather than later in the week because once the tennis talk is all over an article like this would be on the back page of the little paper rather than hidden away a little.

It looks like a slashing drive through extra cover to me, but it's just as likely that he's had a 'fresh airy'.

The headline is pure Herald Sun, but I see it as a positive that a key member of the group is willing to put his expectations for 2010 on public record.

The club has been saying the same thing since 2009 prelim.
It's finally taken the media to actually quote a senior player!!!
OMG sometimes the media are so behind the times.

          But Brian is RIGHT

And terrific display of a drive.
If only Brian played in NSW he'd be in the OZ cricket team
