Western Bulldogs won't risk Jason Akermanis against Lions

Mark Stevens - Herald Sun - 15 April

JASON Akermanis is a definite non-starter against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night despite a positive scan for a hamstring injury.

The Bulldogs veteran left the ground in the third term of Sunday's win against Hawthorn with what appeared to be a significant strain, but tests showed little or no damage.

Akermanis might have been struck down by nothing more than a spasm or cramp, but he will not be risked against the Lions - despite having an imposing record at the Gabba and being keen to travel north for what almost certainly would have been his farewell game at the stadium.

Probably a good idea to err on the side of caution with Akermanis, especially given he's had a few hamstring issues in the past few years.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?
