Julia Gillard in: "Move over Barry Hall"

Not really a Dogs story, but Julia says she wants to take Barry Hall's job. Wait, that's not it...

    Gillard dismisses leadership talk
    The Age, May 17, 2010 - 11:15AM

Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard says there's more chance of her becoming the full-forward for the Western Bulldogs than her launching a bid for the Labor leadership, despite a new poll showing her stocks are rising.

Is this where the 'extreme right' amongst our supporters now come on to denigrate Julia?

Julia is fantastic. Did anyone see her at the players race as the boys came off the ground on Saturday. She was right there against the fence clapping them off the ground.

Yup, would have been interesting to hear what Aker was saying to her.

Er... didn't mean to create all this tension. I just thought it was a funny story (well a funny lead, anyway).

I wasn't too concerned about your spelling and it was an off the cuff comment to you. There are Threads that I don't like but I don't ask for them to be moved. That is why I said lighten up. I grew up reading and hearing about Menzies & Fraser sucking up to Carlton at ever opportunuty and giving them constant free publicity . Most likely the reason why I hate Carlton.
I think it is great that our Club receives free publicity from one of the prominent politicans in our Country who happens to be our no.1 female member.
Whatever party you support, from the Club's point of view, not yours, it is great.

Your right, I do see the lighter side of it now and it is great she's giving free publicity. My emotions towards her may have got the best of me so I apologize.

No need to apologize to me Bulldogsman but I'm glad that you are now looking at it objectively and positively.

Just remember who coughed up 8 mil for our re-development - in an area he would never, ever win.

At least that Sarah Jane girl was good to look at.

Sockeye - I must admit that I was surprised to read your comments. As far as I am aware, Julia lives in Altona (surely that makes her accessible to us "common" folk). Yes, little Johnnie gave us some bucks, - thanks! We could all get into a very interesting discussion on the merits of either or any political party, but really what would be the point? The fact is she is our No. 1 female ticket holder, and quite frankly, I don't think it really matters what she does for a living. I could also have an issue with your comment about Sarah Jane (who is she anyway??) being rather sexist, but I don't think it's worth the drama. Perhaps I could just remind you that there are females on this forum?

He like another not lamented Liberal leader was mislead by their former "plant" in treasury, who by some strange twist of fate is a passionate Doggies man.

You're not trying to tell us that Little Johnnie cared one bit about the west of Melbourne or the Dogs. Or has Hulia gone to your head?

We never heard much about her support of the doggies when she was a shadow minister.

I remember standing behind Gillard and a woman who I can only assume was her PA in a queue to board a plane. They were giggling like school girls and I couldn't help think that this person should never lead our country. Once I heard she was a former member of the socialist party I went off the idea of her being PM even more.
