Bulldogs eye Goodwin for coaching role

While the Dogs are yet to approach Goodwin, who is retiring at season's end, they will not hesitate to contact the dual premiership star should a vacancy arise at Whitten Oval.

"If it came up where there was an opportunity for us to look at that we would certainly sit down and talk to him for sure,'' Bulldogs football operations manager James Fantasia said.

"I haven't spoken to Goody about that (coaching) but from my own point of view I think he would make a very good coach.

thats interesting. Soundslike Fanatsia is conditioning us.

I wonder which of our assistant coaches could be on the move?

I thought the same but I also wondered if we would be looking to add another assistant coach to the team.

He would be a good addition to the club, would bring a wealth of football knowledge.

Not sure why Fantasia would need to "condition" us?

I think it has to do with

          - The story originated from an Adelaide Paper
          - We are playing Adelaide this week
          - Fantansia is originally from Adelaide
          - Goodwin is to retire and has probably expressed an interest in coaching

He was probably asked a question and answered the question.

            Lets hope so

Perfect guidance for young Howard who we'd be pleased if he modelled his game on Goodswin

Not sure i see Goodwin leaving Sth Aus to be honest but he would be a great addition to our team.

Eade (jokingly) indicated the coaches were all a bit miffed at that story...
