Mitch Wallis, Tom Liberatore forge own path

BULLDOG recruits Mitch Wallis and Tom Liberatore have turned down the club's offer to wear the numbers of their famous fathers.

The Bulldogs announced their jumper allocations for next season today and Wallis will wear No.3 and Liberatore No.21.

Wallis's father Steve captained the Bulldogs in No.24 while Tom's father Tony won a Brownlow Medal in No.39.

6 has been rested for 2011 and I guess 8 is for Mitch Hahn if he is rookie listed?

Good to see that the boys are going to wear different numbers from their fathers, it is better to play on their terms and play football in the sun rather than in the shadow of their fathers reputation.

No mention of current players moving numbers either, thought picken may take a lower one.
