A BULKED up and patched up Ayce Cordy is ready to be let off the leash by the Western Bulldogs next season.
After missing virtually all of the 2010 season because he had both shoulders reconstructed, Cordy said he was working hard over the pre-season to ensure he could break into the Dogs' line-up next year.
The 20-year-old former Geelong Falcon has bulked up considerably since he arrived at Whitten Oval two years ago and said he recently tipped the scales at 100kg.
Cordy said he had signed a new two-year deal with the Bulldogs and was ready to repay the club for the faith they've shown in him after taking him with their first pick in the 2008 national draft.
"For me it's crunch time now," Cordy said.
"They've been very supportive of me and they've given me the time that I need. It could have been easy for them to cut ties with me after my contract ended and let me deal with my injuries by myself because I haven't given a lot over the last few years.
"So touch wood I can get through the pre-season and have an injury free year next year."
Bulldogs midfielder Shaun Higgins said the club was looking to Cordy and Jordan Roughead to shoulder the club's ruck stocks well into the future.
"Ayce is getting back into shape now after a couple of major shoulder operations this year and he'll have a good preseason along with Jordan Roughead, who's going to be a star for us in the future," Higgins said.
"So our ruck division looks pretty good."
