I don't know why you would publicly state this.

What kind of message does it send to your players?

If i was about to resign with the dogs and they go out saying this in public, i'd use it against them and play hard ball. The obviously have the money, they can't use that as an excuse now.

Could you please give us a brief description of Boak? What would you pay?

I've seen very little of him, but what I have seen I wouldn't be throwing "everything" to get him.

I'd say he fits macca's mould but realistically would you be happy to give up a first round pick for him?

Considering Port are likely to have a pick a head of us at the national draft, even exchanging picks seems unlikely.

We would need Boak to nominate us as his desired destination.

Thanks, I don't know how I missed that. But what is he like on the outside? What's his foot skills like? Is he quick?

Looking at his stats, it looks like he's more of an inside player which is what I suspected. From what I've seen, his foot skills aren't exactly damaging which is what I think we really need.

I'd rather go to the draft if we have to use a 1st round pick to get him.

SS says he has been told that he is also slow

It's all good.....James is on the case. Maybe he can do a similar trade to the one he did to get Wayne Carey to the Crows for pick 4 (which ended up being pick 2 after Carlton's salary cap breaches) and Kane Johnson.

I subscribe to the 'less is more' approach when it comes to media proclamations about targetting players from other clubs. Covert is so much better than overt. All that article will do is set us up for disappointment if we (inevitably) don't end up securing anyone of significance. Rather than chasing a big name for the sake of it and telling the world all about it before-hand, I'd rather we looked at the current list, identified specific areas that require improvement and search for players that will directly improve these areas of deficiency, and do all of this quietly and away from the media glare. I'd be willing to bet that Macca would prefer this approach as well.
