Saw a little online. Cordy and Hamling very athletic but more importantly footballers first. Biggs looked solid indeed our defensive stocks are on the up.

To put in that kind of performance first up after having significnat surgery you would have to say yes.

Just back from the game .
Members side of the ground very cold still.
Decent crowd probably 1,500 to 2,000.
Lot of positives in particular Z Cordy and the draftees .
Cordy reads the play well and is good one on one, and athletic ( looks a father/son bargain)
Macrae as you'd think played well ( accumulated plenty) Hrovat was excellent, although I just reckon he goes third or fourth option to often, and needs to work on his composure .
Minson for me looks frustrated and slow, as does Tommy C. Grant was excellent( as he should in this company) Biggs was impressive off half back( great run and carry) Darley was good but needs to eliminate elementary costly errors in his game . Roarke Smith was impressive with his composure and decision making a highlight . Prudden also had a very nice game off half back/ mid and looks ready for promotion . Hamling was solid in the back 50 and could push for promotion .
Hamilton also looks a classy type with ball in hand, and to be honest it looks like last years draft class is a real hit .
Caleb Daniel was quiet, but probably to be expected .
            Very very positive outlook

Great to hear such a positive report, particularly re the likes of Cordy, Hamling, Biggs, Prudden.

Our draft class from last year is extremely encouraging thus far, given we didn't have any early picks, but seems we've got some serious talent in Webb/McLean/Dale/Hamilton/Daniel/Cordy.

Redpath had a dirty day and is very lucky if he hasn't been reported. Even his mother was wishing he focused on the ball more than his opponent.
Darley was a mixed bag today and he made a few poor decisions and his skills let him down.
Prudden slowed down in the last half.

Hrovat and Grant should earn recalls based on their performances tiday. Hamling and Biggs should be able to come in and contribute when needed.

DR, Smith competes hard but la ks a bit of polish. Very athletic. Daniels was a bit quiet.

Darley undoes some good things with skill errors. Redpath is very lucky not to have been reported. Dirty day for him so far.
If Darley would just go with his first option Hed be fine. But he dances about waiting for the perfect option and then has to rush his disposal. It's getting frustrating.

Who is a good comparison for R.Smith at AFL level?

Will he develop into a small lock down defender like Sydney's Nick Smith?

He isn't small, has good tall hands and seems very composed, great body shape for a kid in his first year, solid build.

This was a very convincing win. Newcomers to impress were Hambling Z Cordy Hamilton and McLean. Macrae did look a class above this level of opposition. Both Darley and Biggs will keep pressing for senior selection. Zaine Cordy in his first game took a while to get the pace of the game but had an excellent second half when he took 6 marks which included many fine overhead.Hrovat was lively up forward with 4 goals but still needs to get rid of the ball quicker. Grant also with 4 goals was lively up forward in a performance that didn't do his senior recall any harm. Webb didn't play today which may suggest that he could be held in reserve in case of a late change for tomorrow's game against Fremantle. Minson started the game well kicking the first goal and then kicked 3 behinds, through in accuracy. Campbell did well at times rucking against big Dawson Simpson but still needs to do more to gain a recall.
