I wonder why it has to be at Port? It's not like North Port oval is the MCG or they are incapable of broadcasting the game from other venues. They clearly can so I don't buy the argument that it's better for the broadcaster. Why not play the whole season at the same venue? We could play a game each day of the week in a studio at the Seven studios. That would be really convenient for them.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Footscray a big chance to make the prelim with these ins

Keeping them playing every week will help the AFL side

Eight AFL-listed players to make way into Footscray side ahead of semi-final.
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

        Yep, seems weird to me.

A Whitten Oval semi, leading into a big MCG final sounds like the perfect double header for supporters following the teams which earned the right to play at home.

But then again, the powers that be don't exactly sit around and ask themselves 'how can this benefit the Bulldogs?'.

More of a balanced side this week
Few could be playing for a finals spot in a weeks time ( fingers crossed)

If Magic McLean has a ripper and we win through to the semi, I'd throw him into the big time.

It makes even less sense when Port Melbourne make the finals, which happens most years.

Too bad the TAC Cup finals are at Carlton...this would be a better venue for the VFL finals.

Probably the most balanced side we've had in about 4 -5 weeks, maybe longer.

Anyone seen the Essendon team? Do the regulations allow them a lot of their AFL players?

Funny thing is that a lot of their 'AFL' players are actually VFL players in disguise. So I don't think we'll be too affected.

Mckernan, Pears and Steinberg are quite honestly the only names I recognise from that list.

Yeah we're better off than they are, you only need to have played 1 VFL game to get a go if the AFL side is still playing
