    Brett Andersons Final Draft Effort

    Well worth a read.

    He has us with

    Fiorini, Dunkley, Skinner and Allen.

    Thoughts?

I'm not overly excited by that bunch, meaning that's what we will do and they will turn out sensationally.

It's not a bad blend positionally, but I have a few players I'd be taking before those mentioned. It seems to align with a lot of talk which is going on, albeit I'm not sure how easy we are to read based on the last few years.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Overlooking McKay? I would've thought he'd be somewhere around our interest. Agree with GoDogs, it's not a bunch that overwhelms me.

Based on his draft prior to selections I think I could see us getting Fiorini and I would certainly take Darcy Tucker or Redman next although Ben McKay was also available. Skinner makes sense with the 3rd pick but Mitch Brown is still there.
I'm not sold on Allen and Gardner, Moore or Adams would have been my preference. He has Sam Murray going the pick before ours and Reuben Williams a couple of picks before that.

I don't quite get the Dunkley link with us.

Big no to Dunkley from me.

If you can't kick, your off the list.

In my Nearest The Pin 4 days ago I had Fiorini/ Adams/ Skinner/ Allen thinking they were reasonably left field, so I'm pretty amazed that BA has 3 of 4 the same. Really not keen on Dunkley though, and Adams is probably the one I am keenest on.

If you take 2 of Fiorini/Bonner/Tucker they look to be similar type players hence not surprised at us being linked with Dunkley. He reminds me of Koby Stevens and I did notice Bevo mention him alot late in the season, stating what a big loss he was, so obviously rates him and his traits. Dunkleys kicking is no worse than Smith or Macrae from what I can see and they are both handy footballers.

I'd take Fiorini for sure, for an outside player winning over 30 possessions a game is a good sign indeed and he has a nice kicking technique, a natural footballer once again.

I can live with those picks, although Dunkley is not the best to pick with our second pick.

I'm going against the trend - I'd rather Dunkley than Fiorini.
Pure outside accumulator who has low hurt-factor in his disposal? Everything about him screams shorter version of Cale Morton. Players with a higher % of UC tend to have lower success rates at AFL level.

Going off Youtube highlights (granted, not ideal) I didn't see Fiorini kick over 15-20 metres at all.
Reminded me of Christian Howard to be honest.

I'm not a big fan of either to be honest. Dunkley is a better chance of succeeding though, so I would prefer him as well.

I'd be very disappointed with Fiorini and Dunkley as our first two picks. Neither is what we need, and I don't think they have traits that add anything significantly to our list.

They don't excite me either. Mind you last year's crop also didn't excite me........until they started playing.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

I liked McLean & Webb as the first two at the time - especially after reports Collingwood's pick 5 tagged Webb at APS football.
McLean had a huge hanger as arguably the TAC highlight of the year.
