But I like you would prefer to also take Coughlan over Adcock.
    But what do I know.
Bevo said Wed night that he hopes no one else gets Adcock as he is living with him at the moment.

One guy no-one is mentioning much but strikes me as a real Dal type is Thomas Jok. Wouldn't mind seeing him getting a Rookie spot.

He's a Sudanese-born 191cm utility from Dandenong Stingrays (Weitering, Collins territory) who is still very skinny and wiry, heaps of upside, has a great attack on the footy and serious athletic ability. Missed the U18s through injury, but averages 7 tackles a game in TAC, runs and carries and kicks goals, has a massive leap and his burst pace and endurance running is highly rated (at the combine he was 1 of 2 who broke 10 minutes for the 3k trial).

Green as, but has taken huge strides. Just what the rookie list is for.

              The Rookie Draft

              Starts:

The 2016 rookie draft is scheduled to start at 11.10am on Friday (tomorrow), following on from the 2016 pre-season draft at 11.05am.

              How does it work:

All 18 clubs are linked using Microsoft Live Meeting technology, enabling them to lodge their selections from their home state or club base, with the AFL Football Operations Department running it from the AFL offices.

It's a far cry from all the fanfare and over-production in Adelaide on Tuesday night, with players picked in the rookie draft receiving a small fraction of the exposure that their national draft counterparts were afforded.

However, for the average footy fan that has little to no idea about the widely-unknown youngsters that make up the vast bulk of draft selections, the rookie draft has actually become more interesting than the national draft.

With the advent of the delisted free agency mechanism, whereby clubs can sign discarded players from their rivals with ease during designated time periods, hardly any freshly-delisted AFL players are picked up in the national draft anymore.

But it's a different story for the rookie draft with clubs waiting for the final draft of the year to add more experience to their playing list at the AFL's version of a bargain price – a rookie contract.

Have we ever taken a player from Dandenong that worked out well for us?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Oh, I didn't know Bailey Dale was a Stingray. It's OK then.

Take it a step broader; has anything good ever come out of Dandenong?

If we worry so much abut precedent, we're pretty much only ever recruiting from a 10 km radius from Whitten Oval or from Gippsland (actually.....)

I'm barracking for 1 ruckman (Goetz/Galloway/Nyuon/Parella will do, whichever SD prefers) and Jok.
