Best mark I've ever seen live.
He took a good one a few minutes before, too. Definitely one to keep an eye on as the season progresses. Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

Re: Round 1 Footscray Bulldogs v Northern Blues
Honeychurch was good but will struggle to force his way into a pretty stacked midfield.
Collins looked a class above, controlling the back line but again, our defence is tracking well so will struggle to find a spot.
In terms of spots to fill, we obviously have Murphy to replace and that last picked mid/forward (Jong & Dunkley). I would consider either of Webb or Adcock for Murphy's spot. Webb has been playing pure midfield throughout the VFL practice matches, and did today, too. Yet he's versatile enough and has a great leg cannon, that he can play that half back utility role. Adcock has experience on his side but has been playing mid forward from what I've seen so far. Was very productive today.
If I had a gun to my head, I'd say Adcock for Murphy for a few weeks and see how it goes.
As for the forward/mid role, I think it's crucial that it's a good ball user and finisher. Therefore, I think Bailey Dale needs a run. He was quietish today, got on the outside and wasn't utilised as well as he should've been. Some of those missed forward entries we had against the Hawks wouldn't have occurred if Dale had the ball in hand, IMO.
So:
IN: Adcock and Dale
OUT: Murphy and Jong. Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

Probably not quite as good as Moorcroft's for me, but it was quite a grab.
Must have suffered vertigo as he kick for goal went sideways .Comment

It's on Footscray's VFL Twitter account.
Lovely grab.

Its the first time that I have ever seen the crowd give a footballer a standing ovation after taking a mark. It was such an outrageous mark there were people just pointing and laughing. The footage doesn't do it justice because you could see Hannan's eyes light up when he saw that he had the sit so he just went for it.It's on Footscray's VFL Twitter account.
Lovely grab.

Doesn't look overly fantastic from the footage angle.
Really need a side on view.
Still a good grab though.Comment

Re: Round 1 Footscray Bulldogs v Northern Blues
Was he just getting balls out of packs, hence the high count? or was he actually using the ball by foot much and getting inside 50 entries or generating run?
Interested to know where he would fit as a midfielder.Comment

Re: Round 1 Footscray Bulldogs v Northern Blues
One of those "you had to be there" moments I guess. Pretty much everyone in the ground knew that Mitch had the sit except for the defender under the drop of the ball. He got up so high, and he stayed up for a while too. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment
