Re: Round 13 Footscray v Coburg
Disagree GVG, we were the far better team for the majority of the game.
Stevens was best on by the end. Shook off a bit of rust and took over the midfield. Think he'll play next week.
Boyd was really good; looked like there was a bit of miscommunication between him and the guys up the ground, he clearly wanted it put in long and they kept trying to spear it in. When they did finally put it in long he clunked them. Really encouraging stuff.
I'm on my phone so I won't go too much further, but Collins was really good, as was HC, and Smith took a few grabs that reminded me of a a Torquay version of Easton Wood.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment

Re: Round 13 Footscray v Coburg
Thought Boyd was good and Koby too although I do think he does a lot of blind kicks to no-one. Honeychurch tried hard. Hamling took some good marks and really loved Collins play in second quarter. He never gives up and just when you think he will not stick a tackle he does. Campbell did not overpower the other ruckmen and was outplayed around ground I thought e.g. outmarked, without being bad if that makes sense. Roarke took a great mark in first half and have a feeling they limited his game time. Reminds me of a young Wood.
Boyd goal kicking reliable with limited opportunity up forward and rucked ok. Great grab in second quarter - hope someone took footage. Surely ban is lifted soon so he can play with Big Red. His team mates flocked around him when he kicked goals. He and Honey look good in forward line sometimes - a bit of chemistry there, clearly close.Josie :)

You always give it to us straight HD so this is good to hearIf you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Agree with this. Our disposal I.e. Ability to hit a target and fumbling in packs was pretty poor most of the day. Lots of kicking sideways. Coburg played well, played direct footy and kicked way too many easy goals and also took way too many easy marks. They looked more like an AFL affiliated side and ran out the game better.

Problem is that this might be ok in the VFL, but depending on big marks is not a good idea against a quality AFL defence. The truth will set you free,

If only he didn't whack Zaine. He'd have been handy in Sydney tonight. Silly boy, but hopefully we all learn from today.... And Redders is our upside.Comment
