Re: 2016 VFL QUALIFYING FINAL 1- Footscray v Casey
We hung on until just before halftime but it all went downhill from there. Losing Austin didn't help because they were just too tall.
Sloppy foot skills cost us again as well. We kicked the last goal before 3/4 time to get it back to 5 goals and then we got the first goal of the last to start to find a way back but then we had the ball in our forward 50 for the first 8 minutes but missed some gettable shots and let Casey of the hook a little and then they cleared it and kicked a goal because pretty much everyone of our guys were at the other end of the ground. Then the dam broke.
Casey's first final win after 11 consecutive losses.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Went to the match and the undermanned Bulldogs were outclassed by a far more experienced Demons line up after half time. Honeychurch dominates at this level with another 30 plus possessions and Webb was a very good player. Mitch Hannan as a 22yo looks a future senior player and is sure to have talent scouts keen to seek his services. Took two absolute screamers. Tremendous to see so many senior players in attendance including Matthew Boyd Campbell Bontempelli Mitch Wallis Clay Smith and Stevens. The word is that Libba Macrae Wood and Campbell if selected will be right to go against the WCE.

Anyone who doesn't play in the AFL final can play.
There was once a time not that long ago that I could have cracked a joke like "I wouldn't necessarily say that." But I can't because it's such a good list.

Great summary NBP , went out and had a look .
Fair to say it was like visiting the end of the earth!! Thought the boys were brave in the first half, but the skill level after half time was atrocious . Hannan took an absolute spekky but then an absolute howler of a kick . The usual suspects played well, but just way to undermanned . Great to see a lot of the senior lads there

Has something changed with Hamilton since signing that contract extension? Confidence is the obvious factor but he seems to be getting more of the ball and hitting the scoreboard. Can VFL watchers say if there anything he's doing now that's producing these superior results?
Re: 2016 VFL QUALIFYING FINAL 1- Footscray v Casey
Hamilton's not an overly athletic type. He's clearly been spotted for his footy brain. That's his attribute. Problem is, at 19yo, it's hard for that attribute to shine when you're small, slow and lacking in strength. Remember Greg Williams was discarded by Carlton at 19, Terry Wallace was initially overlooked at VFL level etc.
So, for Hamilton, he's simply a improved with age and growth. It seems that simple. A bit of a nod from
The club and some confidence that he belongs can't help for a developing kid like him, too. He does the bad things expected from a kid, but does enough to suggest that he may have something special at times.
We've long craved smart footballers who use it well. That's his role eventually.
