    Rookie Draft Pick 18, 2016

Monday 4pm is the rookie draft. We've committed to Prudden, presumably with 36. So what to do with pick 18?

All the kids we've grabbed will need some time to develop. We are down a mature ruck and mature KPD from this year. If there's injuries then we might be a little to thin, so I'm in the camp of grabbing a mature player for the area we consider more important. I didn't see Baulderstone or Kietel called tonight, maybe they're worth a rookie spot.

Plenty of good kids slipped through.

    Was hoping for Hannan here

A number of good players still available in fact a couple of names surprise me.

Would we look at a ruckman or do we go with the next best?

In my world, something happens with Prudden and we use pick 18 on the best available and 36 ruck/KPD. But Prudden really limits us. There's good kids as you say, but we haven't replaced Hamling or Minson as AFEL ready players. This is still in my mind going into next year.

We chose not to nominate him. So my money is on no.
