NMM had the best moment of the game with his mark and goal. Dal seems to have done very nicely with his 2016 crop.

What's going to be interesting is what the coaches do with them, that is, drill them at one end of the ground to a high competency before moving them around the ground, or throw them around a bit.

Re: Round 5 - Footscray Bulldogs v Port Melbourne

2 close wins against the Tigers last week and a close loss against West Coast and despite the final scoreboard it was essentially a close loss against Port Melbourne.

We aren't getting the types of results we should be, sure injuries are playing their part but we had the same challenges with injuries last year and were performing better. I think losing a couple of experienced types via trades has hurt us a bit more in the short term than what we probably originally thought.

Given the players coming back we will be able to put better teams on the ground and we won't need to put a weighting behind if injuries are impacting our performances.

Based on today's performance Wallis, Roughead and English should be in the mix for senior selection and Dickson will be as well. I would have liked Biggs to have performed better but I thought Honeychurch did better than expected.

Last week Mullenger-McHugh changed with Young and they seem to be the more naturally versatile players we have.
I think by the end of the season these two will have come a long way in their development.

Any injuries to note today? I read here something about Prudden as a concern?

Hamstring apparently. Poor bugger, body just doesn't seem made for footy.

There is something special about players that get the types of injuries he has endured and are just prepared to keep working through them. On top of that he's a really nice bloke. He will need a lot of luck to be kept on the list next year but you can't fault his work ethic.

Crameri went off at one stage. Looked pretty sore.

Had it in background silent so wasn't paying a heap of attention.

Copped a heavy knock in a marking contest but was ok. He only had about 8 disposals for the day, very poor effort.

Quite late in the game and from the vision it appeared like a heavy cork in his upper hip / buttock region. Was in a bit of distress with it at the time.

Roughy with 21 hitouts and was rotated quite a bit from reports. Thats good enough for me. With Roughhead and Dickson back in our forward line all of sudden looks much much better with Boyd rotating from the forward line.

Roughie looked really good. He moved with a lot of freedom.

Nathan M-Mac is going to play some good footy.
