Campbell started well and picked up the ball below his knees really cleanly on two occasions. Faded from the game after half time when he really should be dominating at this level.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Its good to see Roughead running around even though it's in the VFL. With Roughead still building match fitness I see no reason why he can't play second ruck with Boyd continuing as first ruck. We need a second ruckman full stop. We got back into the game against Geelong when Cloke helped out in the ruck instead of Jong.

If Roughead isn't fit enough could English do a better job than a 80% fit Roughead? Probably not. Roughead needs to play imo.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

From what I saw on the live stream he was a little lost in the first 3 quarters but started to more involved in the last.
His first VFL game and after having a lengthy spell it will interesting to see how he goes after a few matches.

It was a really scrappy game that was hard for anyone forward or behind the half lines.

He had a decent chance or two, and nailed one of them.

This game was one for him to get through, he did and had one or two nice touches, he's got to build on that now. Importantly the clear chance he had he put away.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Will preface this by saying that I haven't read back through this thread, so apologies if I'm just repeating what others have said.

Went to the game on Saturday. Very windy and scrappy and we didn't play smart footy often - but really, the reason we lost is that we are just too top heavy in the reserves - so I wasn't that disappointed with the outcome.

Biggs and Mclean had big games. Toby McLean's attack on the footy and the man was ferocious, he really played like a man on a mission to get back to the AFL. Couldn't quite say the same about Libba. Libba was fine, but just looked like he has been in the AFL, albeit a handful more touches. Biggs patrolled the half back line and looked good.

The most enjoyable part of going to the game was watching Tim English. He is so exciting. Standing behind the goals in the last quarter, he looked our most likely match winner. I think he will be a great player for us. Some of his pack marks....as I said - so exciting.

Agree about English. I've said it before, but I think he'll be out 2nd best player behind Bont within a few years.

I thought the same on Saturday afternoon. He could be anything.

As for his readiness to play AFL right now. My only concern would be his aerobic conditioning. Seeing him up close, he isn't THAT skinny...he looks skinny because he's just so bloody tall, but he is quite broad and strong in the shoulders, is super competitive and aggressive in the air.

I love Roughy...but he'll be under pressure sooner than expected. This kid will be a serious player. Early days, but my prediction is we have struck gold with him and Lipinski in this draft. Very bullish about both.

He has very strong legs compared to the rest of his body. He needs upper body strength, remembering he is only 19 years old. I would not be pushing him into the seniors yet.

Apparently Footscray Bulldogs could be playing Sandy this Saturday night at VUWO.

                        Trying to find the details.

Yeah I've just seen on the Footy Live app, that this game is listed amongst the Round 17 games (the others of which occur in August) but the date for the game in May 27.
