The recruitment team have an ordered list of players for each pick - based on who would be realistically available at each pick.

Of course they aren't saying that Callum Porter should be in the first round (ie. next best after Richards), but based on the players they feasibly thought would be available at pick 74 - he was 1st preference.

I doubt they are going to give us much more though. I mean could you imagine if there was a line like "Oh shit they took John Smith before us, better take Joe Smith instead" and I doubt they'll show us their reviews of players taken before our picks although it would be interesting. The same lines are made by every club so I wouldn't read to much into it.
