At the same time as we are playing in Ballarat. Such dumb scheduling.

The whole VFL competition is screwed, number of teams v number of games, the amount of byes leading to lack of player continuity. might as well just make it a VFL reserves competition only and run it so that fixturing can align.

No wonder Ross Lyon is up in the air with draftee Alix Tauru getting 4 weeks by the tribunal, as he has to serve it within the VFL timing, and with the VFL team having two byes, he is in effect out for 6 weeks. They don't count the AFL Saints playing during the VFL bye

I've watched the incident numerous times and it looks so innocuous. A collision between 2 players without any malicious intent. One comes off second best because he's shorter and a draftees debut season is largely ruined.

I couldn't see much in it either. 6 weeks is ridiclous

Footscray has added five players to its team ahead of Saturday's clash at Victoria Park.

Footscray has added five players to its team ahead of a Saturday afternoon clash with Collingwood.

Nick Coffield will play his first competitive hit-out of the year, while Cooper Hynes, Luke Kennedy, Josh Dolan and Diesel Moloney have also been recalled.

Liam Jones, Jordan Croft and Josh Kellett will miss through injury, while Tristan Maple and Ted Middleton have been omitted.

The five inclusions mean up to 13 AFL-listed Bulldogs could feature at Victoria Park.

The first bounce will be at 2:05pm AEST on Saturday 3 May, and be live-streamed via the AFL website and AFL Live Official app.

The VFLW Bulldogs will play at the same venue from 10:05am, marking a Dogs’ double-header at Victoria Park.

Obviously didn't watch the game, but big 72 point win for the VFL boys. Poulter 27 and 3.3. Gallagher, Duryea and Baker plenty of ball as well. Lachie Smith won the hitouts.

It was a very even spread from the AFL guys. They played well but nothing stands out to say elevate me.
Jones played one of his better games, but I get the feeling there's a lot of fizz and not a lot of pop. Smith was good in the ruck but I'm not familiar with the opposition.
Duryea had a good game in the back half and could be getting a little bit of form back but if would be hard to drop any of the AFL guys unless they are injured.

Watched a replay of the game.

Gallagher the best. He needs to become cleaner, but it was a good showing.

Coffield made a good return. His a good ball user. Hope he stays fit.

Gardner really solid down back. His disposal let him down at times but his good reliable depth.

Baker worked hard all day. Butchered the footy. His disposal is so inconsistent week to week. I don't mind him playing a sub role at afl level as he does try to make things happen with his run.

A Jones played really well. His damaging and clean with ball in hand. Just needs to find the footy more.

Hynes coming along nicely. Maximum damage player. Reminds me a lot of a young Jordan De Goey.

Jacques if we weren’t playing so well he’d probably be in line for a debut. Super clean. A joy to watch. My only knock on him is he needs to get in the gym. Is intercept game might not hold up at afl level because he is so slight.

L.Kennedy played well. Also very clean. Probably doesn’t get enough of it at this stage as a midfielder. Long term I’m not sure he has too many elite traits.

L.Smith great game. Hasn’t been beaten in the ruck all year.

Poulter didn’t put a step wrong. But the stat sheet probably inflates his performance. The ball was coming in there so much someone has to kick the goals.

Duryea did as you’d expect. Adds a lot of leadership to that backline.

Scott - wasn’t his day. Thumbled. Hope he finds his best because he can put pressure on spots.

I kept a bit of an eye on VFL match whilst watching seniors & after it had finished. Good summary.

PS I enjoy it when folks mistakenly make up wonderful new words. “Thumbled” enters that hollowed pythonon.
