Dogs NGA kid who's currently playing for the Western Jets as an underage player. Been quietly putting together a really strong season until this weekend where he had the above game and is now making recruiters sit up and take notice. Small forward, only 173cm or something like that but quick, natural goal sense and tackles well. At his current trajectory he's looking to be a top 30 pick next year. Crossing fingers Tassie don't get full draft access as he might get snapped up without us being able to match. Bit to play out on this one whether we are actually able to secure him, but he'd be the perfect fit for our team.

Interesting game tomorrow at Avalon Airport Oval. Jets vs Chargers with El Souki and Will Darcy both playing. Surely a WOOFer or two will venture down?
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Apologies for the tiktok link, but should still be able to view without joining, I could. Here's some game footage from the other week with some more info.

I know it’s just highlights which doesn’t tell you much, but I love the intensity shown in this clip. Looks the type who could play senior footy early once drafted, provided he has the tank for it

So can we actually draft him? Or do we have to hope he lasts to pick 40 or something?

They reverted the pick 40 rule back last year (which allowed the bombers to get Kako) so we're not too stressed about that. They are however, looking at tweaking the zones before the end of the year and there are whispers Tassie has asked for full draft access (NGA / father-son included) so that could potentially shake things up as well. Given he's in next years draft, I think the only way we'd miss out is if the AFL moved our zone or altered the rules that only 1 NGA / father-son eligible player is allowed to be picked up per draft. Our draft next year has at least 4 players linked to us via NGA / father-son that are a decent chance to get picked up (West, Cooney, El Souki, Hok Marial). Realistically we're probably an 80% chance to land El Souki, but i'm allowing that 20% because i'm a pessimistic dogs supporter and don't want to get my hopes up too much (also the AFL change their mind on NGA regularly).

Challenge: As the AFL create a competent set of rules and apply them consistently for years before deciding if further change is needed
                    Difficulty: Impossible

Seems like a kid we could use partnering with West and Weightman, maybe a HFF

If we got all 4 and Butters that would be massive as long as Cooney and West are showing AFL talent .
Means 5 players go which , even though our list is good I do think there is at least 5 we could let go , not sure how many the rule is I think it’s 4 .

I believe you have to let 3 go. But I could be wrong.

The NGA is a cheat code for us right now, think about it our zone is the fastest growing multicultural area in the country basically. Statistically there’s going to be a lot of talent coming through our zone, and we’ve identified that early and put a lot of resources into the NGA.

The gravy train will run out, I mean we’re not a big club so we can’t have nice things but the next 5 years could really set up a dominant period of success if the AFL don’t change too much too quickly with the academies. There is a LOT of young talent in our academy right now.

Would you like a fairer system? Sure but the afl has never and will never be fair so I don’t see why our supporters complain when we finally get a one up. This is our one up. Enjoy it whilst it lasts
