    Been a great day
Victory winning the league, and our two teams winning
    Let’s not forget Richmond’s injury crisis .
Has Trent Cotchin’s migraine cleared ?

Re: Round 5 2018 - Footscray Bulldogs v Richmond Tigers

      * Campbell was kinda typical; he's a bit lumbering and doesn't offer a ton around the ground but he's a reliable tap ruckman and he can kick the cover off the ball. If he was a better mark than he'd be good resting forward but he just doesn't have that facet.

      * Trengove was both better and worse than Campbell. Soldo was all over him in the ruck contests and he had a few howlers but he presented well around the ground and provided a target.

      * Smith was our best early on; he was intercepting very well and showing some of his old flair running off halfback. I still expect him to be cut at the end of the year but I'm still a fan of his.

      * Webb was very good as per usual at VFL level. He was probably our best AFL listed player today and is endlessly frustrating in that he'll never play this well at AFL level.

      * Greene was popping up a lot as that last kick inside 50. His delivery wasn't amazing but he showed a fair amount of energy.

      * Mullenger-McHugh was a bit of a non-entity. I assume he was playing on Chol who wasn't great but that was more a lack of game awareness instead of NMM blanketing him.

      * Roberts was on Jones who didn't have a huge match. Looked like he pulled up sore at one point but he saw the game out.

      * Porter was solid but not spectacular. Kicked a goal and played mostly on the wing

      * Schache presented well and had one awful play that could have cost us the game but two of his goals came from second efforts in the goal square and his third was dribbling it through from 50. Probably a B+ at face value but could argue the rating down by saying that his first two goals didn't come from outmarking opposition.

      * I don't even want to talk about Biggs' game. He had the reverse midas touch tonight

The Footscray Bulldogs secured a one-point victory over Richmond during Round 5 of the PJVFL season

I didn't see the game but the above report lists Schache as our best player. Is he a chance of senior selecton?

Thanks for the great report. If Schache makes it then it won't be on the back of his contested marking. Needs to find other ways of impacting and I think he has the tools if he works hard enough.

Yep, I think he'll fit into the back pocket nicely.

Was speaking to my mate today who went up to Ballarat yesterday for the game and he reckons we should play Schache next week.

I consulted my dog and she thinks Schache would benefit from another week in the VFL, but she didn't travel to Ballarat with me.

How is Josh Wallis travelling this season? 32 possessions is impressive. Could he be a late bloomer?

Your dog doesn't know what she's talking about.

But her ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to her newsletter.
