Went to the Whitten Oval today for the VFL game before the main AFL game.

We gave the Blues are thrashing today.

Great effort to claim the minor VFL premiership. We have had a really good season and are really good chance of winning it.

I know it’s ‘just the VFL’ but as a club that hasn’t had many really high finishes, this should be celebrated. It takes plenty of professionalism and resilience to keep showing up week in week out, especially for those on the fringe or potentially playing out their final months of a footy career. Kudos to Footscray, it’s an element of the club we should all be proud of.

While the focus is always more on the results of the senior side topping the VFL ladder is a massive achievement.
It also underlines the relative strength and depth of the playing list plus the quality of the coaching and development set-up etc

The new fitness team have been amazing. The facilities might also be a part of it.
