Arty was great albeit against poor opposition. We all agree he doesn't find enough ball but hopefully with some continuity that will improve. For me the highlight over the last couple of weeks has been what seems to be a massive improvement in his ability to mark overhead with a surprisingly good leap and strong hands. Although more of a ground level player this maybe one way to increase his numbers on a week to week basis. Maurice Rioli junior is a low output player at Richmond but adds some excitement with his legspeed and defensive actions, Artie also needs to work harder on this part of the game to hopefully become a senior regular.

It feels wrong to keep pulling talented players out of defence though!

I think I see him as a Bailey Williams type role wise - best on the wing but will be used fwd/back too as needed. Player comparison - Ollie Dempsey anyone? I see a lot of similarities. Williams, Davo and Jacques as the wing rotations sounds great to me.

The kids got it, after a big preseason I’m tipping he starts round 1. Last years draft is looking like a monster (when you throw in MSD too)
Agree with you there doggies ftw , I watched him a little bit in his junior days and , he actually reminds me more of a Stewart type ( from geelong ).
his an exellent mark we havnt seen him flying yet but he can take really strong marks and has simular speed to Stewart and ran similar lines as Stewart does during his younger years .
Jacques has great anticipation , he just knows when to go and when to stay , his very good with body use in marking duels , hench the comparison to Stewart , but regardless of who he plays like , we have a real moden day footballer on our hands , and i think he will start at half back , then as he gets stronger and gains more experience , i think he may move forward or wing .

Now he is a barometer. A real team player. His defensive pressure is huge. Couldn’t be more impressed with his level of improvement at this level. I reckon he could be the next Brodie Miocheck if a team picked him up.

I keep saying this, but CCP should also be on a list. Consistently top 5 players in a strong team. Does everything well. I think he has enough toe for his game to translate well to High Half Forward role at AFL Level.
Totally agree about CCP , he may not be lighting speed , but his got a fair bit of toe , and in my humble opinion what sometimes makes him look like he lacks a yard is that in the seconds he thinks a bit to fast for the guys around him , he'll sometimes burst away from a pack and give off a hand pass and run to recive it back , but the guy just fumbles that split second , then gives the hand pass back ,but CCP has had to slow that fraction waiting for it back , then gets caught , in senior football that hand pass comes back while his in full flight .
Deserves a chance on a senior list without a doubt , and i hope we give him that opportunity .
Gets plenty of the ball and i think if he gets a chance will become a fan favourite .

Dolan and Scott with concussions. They'll technically be available but Scott might need extra time.

Obviously concerning for Scott but also a little bit for Dolan too, that’s 2 this year now not ideal

If that hit ends Scott's career (possibility given he's history) then that's a disgrace. Absolute dog act and completely unnecessary.

On the footage it shows the Frankston player basically knock Duryea down 2 or 3 times when he was trying to get to the play to be a handball option.

Then the Frankston player is on the ground with a cut to the head. No footage of the incident.

I think Doc is very unlucky because the ump (any ump) should have been penalising the Frankston player well before the incident causing the report.

If you want I can try to track it down, but there was footage of the incident. Looked like a fairly well aimed elbow that got him. He definitely would be frustrated but it's no ones fault but his own.

EDIT - Here's the link to the footage. Almost happens off to the right of screen but you can see at the 8 second mark the elbow thrown.

The Frankston player is still the aggressor from my viewing.

Yeah your right Bulldog Joe Lambert was the aggressor , and i think Duryea definitely hit him but it was more a arm lift as in trying to fend the guy off which unfortunately for Duryea contacted the Frankston play to the side of the head and droped him .
Unfortunate but it looks like thats the end of Duryea's career with us .

I believe we are challenging the duration of the Duryea suspension.

If you go back to the play before that incident, you can see in the background, Lambert blocked and threw Doc to the ground. When Doc got up and started running Lambert ran with him to block again, and then the incident happens.

The most we have is two games left. We would have to reduce the games by at least two for Doc to play again.
