His recent form has been pretty good and has some talents not in abundance in the seniors, as per the 3rd. I think we missed a good chance to include him in the 22 and not an emergency this week. I feel more confidence in him as a small forward than Honeychurch. But I guess he has pled his case again and we will see if the kid can get a debut next week. For his sake, if nothing else, I hope he does.

I was hoping he’d get a crack this week also. At least the wind at Williamstown might prepare him to freeze his butt off at Ballarat next week...with any luck

That's a good pitch to Bevo!

I've been meaning to ask for about 3 years, per your location, are you still in renovators dreams?

          Match Report

Developing ruckman Tim English was a shining light in an otherwise disappointing day for the Footscray Bulldogs, who fell to Williamstown by 10 points on Saturday afternoon at Burbank Oval.

Getting his hand to 52 hit outs, English was influential all over the ground, winning 18 possessions, taking three important overhead marks and laying four tackles.

Captain Angus Monfries (14 disposals, four marks) continued his impressive form, booting three majors, while Fergus Greene (11 disposals, two marks) also kicked three goals of his own.

Shane Biggs stood out in defence, collecting 18 disposals and seven marks, while defender Fletcher Roberts proved pivotal in the backline, collecting 14 disposals and taking three marks.

The Dogs led by 20 points at the final change, but the Seagulls slammed on five unanswered goals to start the last term.
The Bulldogs fought back late, but it wasn’t enough to get over the line.

Moving into the forward line in the third term, Lewis Young (15 disposals, six marks, two tackles) put in another solid performance, while developing midfielder Callum Porter played an impressive four quarters, collecting 15 disposals and laying four tackles.

The Bulldogs have a bye next week, before they take on Frankston at VU Whitten Oval on Saturday August 4 at 2pm.

Greene got to get a call up soon-I am a big fan. English promising, pity he could not snag a few goals. Porter looks ok as inside mid-not sure how he would go at senior level.
Hayes was outstanding again and looked better than any of our listed players. Very determined and skilled and very unlucky not to be a listed player.

Surely Roberts gets a gig. He can at least stop the beasts which is a lot more than what Trengove and Adams do.

I think Timmy might be in the mix.

I hope so. He is much better than Roughy and Boyd.

Sorry, I missed this. It was originally a line I stole from a song, although recent years have involved a kitchen reno, house extension and I spent Saturday smashing up concrete with a sledge hammer so I guess it’s still apt.

Living the dream then. I got a tip from a bloke we know named Luke; he says stick a copy of Barrett's face on the concrete and it makes repeated sledgehammering of the face-concrete easy and even therapeutic .

After the first hundred or so you can just imagine his head so just run a hundred or so copies off. The last thing you want to be stuck with are head shots of him.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
