    OK Well we have 2 options. If we knock off Port by 10 goals we may just replace them in the 8. Unlikely.
    Or if we them by less than that, we have to pray that the blues knock off Essendon. Also unlikely.
    The bombers game kicks off at midday.

          The Footscray Bulldogs have fallen to Port Melbourne by 27 points at VU Whitten Oval on Saturday, ultimately ending their finals chances for the 2018 PJVFL season.

          Booting just two goals to Port Melbourne’s five in the first term, the ‘Scray were left playing catch up for the whole game, before a powerful third quarter looked likely to cause an upset for the travelling team.

          However, it wasn’t to be – the Borough walking away 27-point victors.

          Developing ruckman Tim English (21 disposals, four tackles) performed well in the middle of the ground collecting 33 hit outs and also booting two goals, while midfielder Mitch Honeychurch (26 disposals, six marks) enjoyed another solid performance for the ‘Scray.

          Defender Shane Biggs – who announced his retirement from AFL football on Thursday afternoon – provided a strong performance in his final game in the red, white and blue, collecting 27 disposals and three marks, while Nathan Mullenger-McHugh (17 disposals, two tackles) ended his season on a high, taking six crucial marks.

            Good luck to Shane for whatever he does next. Great to hear Tim English play well. Great future we have. Onto next year now as well for our VFL team.

              So glad I attended this game for different reasons
              Had a mate ( lifelong bulldog) whom sadly passed a month ago and this game was the last time I saw him alive .
              RIP Con

                Vale Con. That gee up he gave the boys at halftime in the 2000 Essendon match will live forever in my memory. Around about the 2 minute mark of this footage;

                They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

                    Yep. At first the commentators think he's an Essendon fan.

                      A very passionate man and sad to hear he is gone at such an early age.
