We don't need to swap pick 7 for 2 players in the teens we already have enough young talent on the list(including West) and plenty of backend to fringe best 22 depth. We need elite talent and I'd pick Rozee then Smith and If not available its sounds like we are into Caldwell/Clark and good chance a King brother is still available.

It's not really off topic if people think we should trade the pick though? I think it is too dangerous with the potential to waste it on West and effectively trade #7 for #15 (example) and #27 (the now unused Dahlhaus pick).

I voted for Smith because purely from what I've read it sounds like he has the midfield nouse, skills and burst speed to fill a gap. We have clever midfielders but none who I would describe as explosive.
Do any of the others available have that trait?

I too voted Smith for his leg speed as I think West will be more the inside feeder like his dad.

Smith would be great but I just don’t think he will be available. It seems like we will need to choose between taking Ben King or someone outside the highly touted 7. I know it’s never that predictable but that’s the logical conclusion at this stage.

I'd like Smith - he's the really nicely balanced inside/out mid that'd suits our needs. You have to like his athletic profile combined with that kicking.

I think this is correct. I chose Clark and a lot of the media draft watchers seemed to have listed us with smalls but looking at Liberatore, McPherson, Romero and Kellett next year (plus NGAs) I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted Ben King as our last shot at elite tall talent for the foreseeable future.

ESPN's phantom draft has us getting Ben King at 7.

Interestingly Jordan Clark has shot right up to 8 after not even being in their top 30 all year
